Indie Design GAL: Scarves & Cowls

Indie Design GAL: Scarves & Cowls

This is part of my on-going Indie Designer Gift-A-Long 2018 series. Starting on November 24th, one to two times a week I will be highlighting 4-6 designs from my fellow designers also participating in the event.

Don’t forget to join in the fun, we’re all over here chatting up a storm.

Aros Cowl by K. M. Bedigan

From the pattern description
Drawing inspiration from the tartans of the Highland Clans, the Aros Cowl combines traditional patterns with the double knitting technique to create a cosy and elegant accessory.

Available in two sizes, and uses 572 – 875 yds of fingering weight yarn.

Vector by Ella Austin

Knit in the round using fair isle (stranded) knitting, this graphic scarf with dramatic fringing is a great unisex choice for gift knitting.

Available in one size, and uses approximately 600 yds of fingering weight yarn.

Kauni Meets Kauni Cowl by Marion Bulin

From the pattern description
This pattern is designed for Kauni 8/2 Effektgarn and brings out the colour changes of two different colourways best – but will work with other yarn, too. It is a long tube and will be blocked flat first, then twisted once to give it a fake Möbius look and then grafted.

Available in one size and uses 1367 – 1422 yds of sport weight yarn.

Pacific Arches by Andrea Rangel

From the pattern description
The Pacific Arches Cowl was inspired by the iconic Seattle Center arches & designed especially for Knit Fit 2017. It’s worked in dramatic colorwork as a tube so there is no wrong side. The ends are seamed together to make a cozy loop scarf.

Available in one size and uses 890 yds of fingering weight yarn.

Forest Park by Sloane Rosenthal

From the pattern description
Waves of four-step cables cascade in and out of 2×2 ribbing in this bold, dramatic scarf. Forest Park takes advantage of the razor-sharp stitch defnition of Brooklyn Tweed’s wonderful new DK-weight base, Arbor, for a modern, graphic take on a knitting project that, in its way, couldn’t be more traditional: the cabled scarf.

Available in one size, and uses 950 – 1015 yds of DK weight yarn.

Caribou Wildflower Cowl by Selena Miskin

From the pattern description
The Caribou Wildflower Cowl is a generously sized cowl knit in the round to form a tube after which the ends are grafted together to form a cozy, seamless circle which can loop two or three times around your neck.

Available in one size, and uses 920 – 1000 yds of sport weight yarn.
